Industrial Ultrafiltration (UF) Systems
Efficient Membrane Filtration for Global Facilities

Our industrial UF systems remove suspended solids, turbidity, colloids, and microorganisms using advanced membrane technology. Designed for operators and engineers, UF helps solve common pain points—frequent filter clogging, unstable water quality, and rising treatment costs.

Industrial Ultrafiltration (UF) Systems

Turnkey UF skids (and optional containerized units) engineered for industrial water treatment worldwide— configurable across a wide range of flow rates and feedwater conditions.
Start with a robust UF skid and scale later by adding membrane modules or parallel skids as demand grows.
Material options include stainless steel and engineered polymers to match feedwater chemistry and site conditions.
Optional multimedia or cartridge prefiltration protects membranes; UV or chemical dosing can be added as needed.

How Ultrafiltration (UF) Works

UF is a pressure-driven membrane process that physically blocks fine particles and microorganisms. Automatic cleaning sequences maintain stable performance over time.

01. Feed & Screening

Feedwater enters the UF train; optional screening or prefilters protect the membrane modules from large debris.

.

02. Mem. Filtration

Water permeates through UF membranes while turbidity, colloids, bacteria, and many viruses are retained.

03. Backwash

Periodic backwash and air scour remove the fouling layer, improving flux and extending operating life.

04. CIP (Optional)

Chemical Clean-In-Place (CIP) is used when feedwater is challenging or when deeper cleaning is required.

UF vs Reverse Osmosis (RO) & Membrane Technologies

Choose the right tool: UF for suspended solids and microbes; RO for dissolved salts and TDS reduction.

Benefits of Ultrafiltration in Industrial Filtration

Higher water quality, lower operating costs, and easier maintenance—built for continuous industrial operation.

Superior Water Quality

Consistently reduces turbidity and suspended solids; helps deliver low SDI water ideal for reuse and RO pretreatment.

Cost & Energy Savings

Lower operating pressure supports lower energy usage compared with high-pressure membrane processes.

Lower Maintenance

Automatic backwash/CIP strategies reduce manual work and increase uptime for operators and maintenance teams.

Sustainability & Compliance

UF supports water reuse programs and helps reduce discharge volumes. Output consistency can simplify meeting internal specifications and project-level water quality requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fast answers for the most common UF project questions.
Is UF a replacement for RO?
No. UF primarily removes suspended solids and microorganisms, while RO removes dissolved salts (TDS). UF is often used as RO pretreatment to protect RO membranes and stabilize feedwater.
These describe flow direction across the hollow fibers. Selection depends on solids loading, fouling behavior, and the cleaning method (backwash/air scour) used in your application.
With proper pretreatment and maintenance, UF membranes typically last between 5 to 10 years. However, this lifespan can vary based on the feedwater quality, operating flux, and cleaning frequency.
UF systems typically use automatic backwash, and many designs include air scour to remove the fouling layer. For challenging waters, chemical enhanced backwash (CEB) or a CIP skid may be recommended.
