Aqurion sand filtration system uses enclosed vessels filled with granular filter media to capture suspended solids as water passes through the media bed. EPA guidance describes sand filtration as a fixed-bed process in which suspended solids are retained within granular media; pressure filters contain the media in sealed vessels and move water through the bed under pressure.<\/p>\n
The system can be integrated into industrial filtration solutions for process water, surface-water pretreatment, wastewater polishing where appropriate, and upstream protection for subsequent treatment stages. For RO applications, media filtration can be part of the pretreatment strategy used to reduce particulate and colloidal loading before membrane treatment.<\/p>\n

During service, water flows through the granular bed and particles are retained within the media. As trapped solids increase the pressure loss through the bed, the filter is taken out of service and backwashed by reversing the water flow to loosen the media and carry accumulated solids to drain.<\/p>\n
Industrial process water pretreatment, surface-water filtration, groundwater pretreatment, cooling-water make-up treatment, boiler-water pretreatment, reverse osmosis pretreatment, and wastewater polishing where the feed-water condition is suitable.
